The line drawn in the sand
The end of all my striving

It Is Finished - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

The song “It Is Finished” by Passion is a powerful reminder of the victory that Jesus won for us on the cross. The lyrics remind us that our debt is paid and we are forgiven. We can rejoice in the knowledge that Jesus has won the battle and we are free.

The Bible tells us in Colossians 2:14-15, “Having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”

Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins and we can rejoice in the knowledge that our debt is paid. We can be thankful for the victory that Jesus won for us and the freedom that it brings. The bridge of the song reminds us to give thanks to our Savior and Friend for the victory that He has won.

We can be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:37-39, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We can be confident in the knowledge that Jesus has won the battle and our debt is paid. We can rejoice in the victory that Jesus has won for us and be thankful for the freedom that it brings.
