Verse 1

What an honor
To be invited to
The marriage of the Lamb
To come and worship Him
Celebration
It’s the joining of the
Bride and the Son
The two becoming one

Pre-Chorus 1

All the prophecies fulfilled
In a moment so we sing

Chorus

Like the roar of many waters
Like the sound of rolling thunder
Hallelujah give him glory
For the marriage of the
Lamb is coming

Refrain

We’re getting ready
We’re getting ready

Verse 2

Filled with wonder
As we behold the man with
Fire in his eyes
The very Word of God
You are worthy
Every kingdom every nation
bowing down
We’ll crown you with many crowns

Every creed and tribe and tongue
declaring
In unity

Getting Ready - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

The song “Getting Ready” by Maverick City Music is a beautiful reminder of the coming marriage of the Lamb. The lyrics speak of the honor of being invited to the marriage of the Lamb and the celebration of the joining of the Bride and the Son. The song also speaks of the prophecies being fulfilled and the wonder of beholding the man with fire in his eyes.

The Bible speaks of this marriage of the Lamb in Revelation 19:7-9 which says, “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”

The song “Getting Ready” is a reminder to us to be ready for the marriage of the Lamb. We must be ready to give Him glory and to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright. We must be ready to shout and sing until the whole world knows that King Jesus is faithful and He is the Blessed Hope.

As we prepare for the marriage of the Lamb, let us remember the words of 1 Peter 5:8 which says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” We must be ready and alert for the coming of the Lamb.

Let us take the words of “Getting Ready” to heart and be ready for the marriage of the Lamb. Let us be filled with wonder and awe as we behold the man with fire in his eyes. Let us be ready to shout and sing until the whole world knows that King Jesus is faithful and He is the Blessed Hope. Let us be ready to give Him glory and to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright.

Let us be ready for the marriage of the Lamb.
