Maverick City Music is a contemporary worship music collective based in Atlanta, founded by Tony Brown and Jonathan Jay. The group first emerged on the scene in 2019 with the release of two extended plays, Maverick City, Vol. 1 and Maverick City, Vol. 2. Maverick City Music went on to release two live albums in 2020: Maverick City Vol. 3 Part 1 and Maverick City, Vol. 3 Pt. 2, featuring chart-topping singles like "Man of Your Word" and "Promises."

In addition to these releases, Maverick City Music collaborated with Upperroom to produce their first collaborative EP, You Hold It All Together (2020), and a holiday-themed EP called Maverick City Christmas (2020). In 2021, the group produced several more successful projects, including their second collaborative EP with Upperroom, Move Your Heart, a joint album with Elevation Worship titled Old Church Basement, which featured notable tracks like "Jireh," "Talking to Jesus," and "Wait on You", and Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition, which received widespread critical acclaim and achieved commercial success.

Maverick City Music has been recognized with numerous accolades, including five Grammy Awards, four GMA Dove Awards, one Billboard Music Award, and one Soul Train Music Award.
