Is He Worthy? - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]
We live in a broken world, and it can be hard to see the light in the darkness. But we can take comfort in the fact that God is with us, and He is working to make all things new.
The song “Is He Worthy?” by Chris Tomlin reminds us of this truth. The lyrics ask if anyone is worthy of all blessing and honor and glory, and the answer is a resounding yes! Jesus is the Lion of Judah who conquered the grave, and He is the Lamb who died to ransom the slave.
The Bible tells us that God loves us and that He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus is the only one who is worthy of all blessing and honor and glory, and He is the only one who can make all things new.
Revelation 5:12-13 says, “In a loud voice they were saying: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!’ Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’”
We can take comfort in the fact that Jesus is worthy of all blessing and honor and glory, and that He is working to make all things new. He is the only one who can bring us hope and peace in the midst of a broken world.
