Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace)

We all have broken pieces in our lives. We can feel lost and forsaken, but God is always there to pick us up and mend us back together. The song “Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace)” by Hillsong Worship reminds us of this truth. The lyrics “All these pieces, broken and scattered, in mercy gathered, mended and whole” remind us that God is always there to pick up the pieces of our lives and make us whole again. 

The chorus of the song says “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I am found, was blind but now I see.” This is a reminder of the power of God’s grace. We can be lost and broken, but God’s grace can save us and make us whole again. This is a truth that is echoed in the Bible. In Ephesians 2:8-9 it says “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” 

The bridge of the song says “Oh I can see You now, oh I can see the love in Your eyes, laying Yourself down, raising up the broken to life.” This is a reminder that God loves us and is always there to pick us up and make us whole again. This is a truth that is echoed in the Bible. In Isaiah 61:1 it says “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” 

God’s grace is amazing and it can save us from our brokenness. We can be lost and broken, but God’s grace can save us and make us whole again. We can trust in God’s love and grace to pick us up and mend us back together.
