Intro

Verse 1

The passion of our Saviour
The mercy of our God
The cross that leaves
no question
Of the measure of His love

Chorus

Our chains are gone
Our debt is paid
The cross has overthrown
the grave
For Jesus' blood that sets
us free
Means death to death
And life for me

Verse 2

The Innocent judged guilty
While the guilty one walks
free
Death would be His portion
And our portion liberty

Bridge

I give my whole life
To honour this love
By the Lamb who was slain
I'm forgiven
The sinner's Saviour
Crown Him forever
For the Lamb who was slain
He is risen

The Passion - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

The Passion by Hillsong Worship is a powerful reminder of the great love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The lyrics speak of the mercy of God and the cross that leaves no question of the measure of His love. The chorus reminds us that our chains are gone and our debt is paid because of the cross. Jesus’ blood sets us free from death and gives us life.

The second verse speaks of the innocent being judged guilty while the guilty one walks free. Jesus took our place and died for us, so that we could have liberty.

The bridge of the song is a beautiful response to the love of Jesus. We can give our whole life to honor this love, because of the Lamb who was slain, we are forgiven. We can crown Him forever, for the Lamb who was slain, He is risen.

The Bible speaks of this great love of Jesus in many places. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus died for us, even though we were sinners. He paid the price for our sins so that we could be free.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus gave His life for us so that we could have eternal life.

The Passion by Hillsong Worship is a beautiful reminder of the great love of Jesus. He died for us so that we could be free from death and have life. We can give our whole life to honor this love, because of the Lamb who was slain, we are forgiven. Let us crown Him forever, for the Lamb who was slain, He is risen.
