New Wine - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

The song New Wine by Hillsong Worship is a beautiful reminder of the power of surrendering to God and allowing Him to work in our lives. The lyrics speak of the crushing and pressing of our lives, and how God is making new wine in us. This is a powerful metaphor for the transformation that God can bring in our lives when we surrender to Him.

The Bible speaks of this transformation in Romans 12:2, which says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” When we surrender to God and allow Him to work in our lives, He can bring about a transformation that is good, acceptable, and perfect.

The chorus of the song speaks of being a vessel for God, and making ourselves an offering to Him. This is a reminder of the importance of being willing to be used by God for His purposes. In 2 Corinthians 4:7, Paul speaks of this, saying, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” We are like jars of clay, and it is God’s power that works through us.

The bridge of the song speaks of the new power and freedom that comes with the new wine that God brings in our lives. This is a reminder of the freedom that comes with surrendering to God and allowing Him to work in our lives. In Galatians 5:1, Paul speaks of this freedom, saying, “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” When we surrender to God, we are set free from the bondage of sin and can live in the freedom of His grace.

The song New Wine is a powerful reminder of the transformation that God can bring in our lives when we surrender to Him. As we yield to His careful hand and make ourselves an offering to Him, He can bring new wine out of us and give us new power and freedom.
