We need no other hiding place
Our hope is safe within Your name
This we know, This we know
You promised never to forsake
What You began You will sustain
This we know, This we know

For He alone
Is strong enough to save
Rise
Your shackles are no more
For Jesus Christ
Has broken every chain

Call Upon The Lord - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

We all need a place to hide and feel safe, and the song Call Upon The Lord by Elevation Worship reminds us that our hope is safe in the Lord. The lyrics “We need no other hiding place/Our hope is safe within Your name” remind us of Psalm 46:1 which says “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” We can always turn to God in times of trouble and He will be our refuge and strength.

The song also reminds us that God will never forsake us. The lyrics “You promised never to forsake/What You began You will sustain” remind us of Hebrews 13:5 which says “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” God is always with us and He will never leave us.

The song also reminds us that Jesus has broken every chain. The lyrics “Your shackles are no more/For Jesus Christ has broken every chain” remind us of Isaiah 61:1 which says “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” Jesus has broken every chain and set us free from our bondage.

Finally, the song reminds us that Jesus’ name is above every other. The lyrics “Jesus Name/Will break every stronghold/Freedom is ours/When we call His name/Jesus name/Above every other” remind us of Philippians 2:9-11 which says “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Jesus’ name is above every other and when we call on His name, we will be set free.

Call Upon The Lord by Elevation Worship is a reminder that our hope is safe in the Lord, He will never forsake us, Jesus has broken every chain, and His name is above every other. We can always turn to God in times of trouble and He will be our refuge and strength.
