First And Only

In the song “First and Only” by Elevation Worship, we are reminded of the importance of seeking God first and foremost in our lives. The lyrics draw us into the center of God’s love, reminding us that He is enough and that He will restore all the desires of our hearts. We are called to abide in Him, to be still and know that He is God, and to find our safety in His presence. The bridge of the song calls us to make God our heart’s obsession, to make Him our first and only in our lives. 

This song is a beautiful reminder of the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” When we make God our first and only, we can trust that He will provide for us and that He will satisfy our souls. We can also find comfort in the words of Psalm 16:11: “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” When we seek God first, we can find joy and pleasure in His presence. 

Let us remember to make God our first and only in our lives. Let us seek Him first and trust that He will provide for us and satisfy our souls. Let us abide in Him and find our safety in His presence.
