Fill Me Up - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]
We are called to offer our lives as a living sacrifice to God, as it says in Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” When we offer our lives to God, we are allowing Him to fill us up with His Spirit. In the song Fill Me Up, Jesus Culture is asking God to fill them up with His Spirit.
The chorus of the song says “Fill me up, God, fill me up, God, Fill me up, God, fill me up.” This is a prayer to God to fill us up with His Spirit. We can see this in Ephesians 5:18 which says “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” When we are filled with the Spirit, we are filled with the love of God.
The bridge of the song says “Love of God overflow, permeate all my soul.” This is a prayer to God to fill us with His love. We can see this in 1 John 4:19 which says “We love because he first loved us.” When we are filled with the love of God, we can’t help but to love others.
When we offer our lives to God, we are allowing Him to fill us up with His Spirit and His love. We can see this in the song Fill Me Up by Jesus Culture. As we offer our lives to God, we can pray for Him to fill us up with His Spirit and His love. May we all be filled with the Spirit and the love of God.
