Intro (2X)

Verse

Your love has ravished my heart
And taken me over, taken me over
And all I want is to be
With You forever, with You forever

Chorus 1

Pull me a little closer
Take me a little deeper
I want to know Your heart
I want to know Your heart
‘Cause Your love is so much sweeter
Than anything I’ve tasted
I want to know Your heart
I want to know Your heart

Interlude (2X)

Bridge

Whoa, whoa, how great Your love is for me
Whoa, whoa, how great is Your love

Closer - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

The song Closer by Bethel Music speaks of the deep love of God for us. His love is so powerful that it has taken us over and all we want is to be with Him forever. The Bible speaks of this love in many places, such as in 1 John 4:16 which says, “So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” God’s love is so great that it is beyond our understanding.

The chorus of the song speaks of wanting to be closer to God and to know His heart. This is something that we can all relate to. We all want to be closer to God and to know His heart. The Bible speaks of this in Psalm 73:28 which says, “But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.” We can draw near to God and know His heart by spending time in His Word and in prayer.

The bridge of the song speaks of how great God’s love is for us. This is something that we can all be thankful for. The Bible speaks of this in Romans 8:38-39 which says, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” We can be thankful that God’s love for us is so great that nothing can separate us from it.

We can all be thankful for the deep love of God for us. We can draw near to Him and know His heart by spending time in His Word and in prayer. We can also be thankful that nothing can separate us from His love.
