Matthew Guion Maher, born on November 10, 1974, is a Canadian contemporary Christian music (CCM) artist, songwriter, and worship leader who currently resides in the United States. He hails from Newfoundland, Canada. Out of his nine albums, three have made it to the Top 25 Christian Albums Billboard chart, while four of his singles have secured a spot in the Top 25 Christian Songs chart.
Maher is renowned for his songwriting skills and has penned notable tracks such as "Your Grace Is Enough," "I Will Rise," "Because He Lives (Amen)," "Christ Is Risen," and "Lord I Need You." He has been nominated for a total of nine Grammy Awards throughout his career and won the Songwriter of the Year title at the 2015 GMA Dove Awards. Despite being a practicing Catholic, Maher's music has reached out to audiences beyond his faith.
