Verse 1

There is a hill I cherish
Where stood a precious tree
The emblem of salvation
The gift of Calvary

Verse 2

How is it I should profit
While He is crucified
Yet as His life was taken
So I was granted mine

Chorus

My wealth is in the cross
There's nothing more I want
Than just to know His love
My heart is set on Christ
And I will count all else as loss
The greatest of my crowns
Mean nothing to me now
For I counted up the cost
And all my wealth is in the cross

Instrumental

And all my wealth is in the cross
And all my wealth is in the cross

Verse 3

I will not boast in riches
I have no pride in gold
But I will boast in Jesus
And in His Name alone

Verse 4

And when I stand in glory
My crowns before the Lord
Let this be my confession
My wealth is in the cross

Crowns - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

We are reminded in the song “Crowns” by Hillsong Worship that our wealth is in the cross. This is a powerful reminder of the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in Luke 9:23-24, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” Jesus gave up His life for us, and in return, we are to give up our lives for Him.

The song also reminds us of the words of Paul in Philippians 3:7-8, “But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” Paul reminds us that we should count all else as loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus. We should not boast in riches or pride in gold, but instead, we should boast in Jesus and His name alone.

The song “Crowns” is a powerful reminder of the sacrifice Jesus made for us and the importance of counting all else as loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus. We should not boast in riches or pride in gold, but instead, we should boast in Jesus and His name alone. Let us remember that our wealth is in the cross and that Jesus is our greatest treasure.
